Ghostly Circus Returns to Fort Mifflin with Supernatural Extravaganza “Portals”

The event’s eighth annual show brings music, dance and interactive performance to the haunted historical site.

PHILADELPHIA, PA – The Ghostly Circus returns to historic Fort Mifflin to stage its latest otherworldly production, “Portals.” Now in its eighth year, the Ghostly Circus will bring music, dance, art and performance experiences of a decidedly supernatural nature for one night only to what many consider the most haunted location in Philadelphia.

In “Portals,” attendees will explore the historic barracks and armories of Fort Mifflin while taking part in an interactive storytelling experience. Aerialists, musicians, fire spinners and other performers will guide visitors through a world where supernatural forces cross into our realm – and where attendees must decide whether these anomalies are friend or foe.

“‘Portals' is half theater, half choose-your-own-adventure,” said Lauren Raske, Creative Director. “The spirit of the show is a circus, but we include a multitude of art forms and interactive moments. It's exciting to imagine how people will explore the historic grounds and create their own stories with our performers.”

“Portals” will be available for one night only on Saturday, August 14. There will be an all-ages showing at 6 p.m., followed by a 21-plus showing at 8:30 p.m. and an after-hours dance party at 10 p.m. featuring DJs Illexxandra and Tektite. Food and drink will be available on site, and limited advanced tickets are still available at 7textures.com/ghostlycircus. Check-in is at Fort Mifflin’s moat entrance at 6400 Hog Island Road, Philadelphia, PA 19153.

Schedule of Events:

• Showing 1 @ 6:00 p.m.: All ages. Discounted tickets for children 12 years old and younger. Free for kids 2 years old and under.

• Showing 2 @ 8:30 p.m.: Adults only. 21+ with valid government ID. 

• After-Party @ 10:00 p.m. - 1:00 a.m.: 21+ dance party. On-site after-party with legendary DJs Illexxandra and Tektite. Free for adults with a wristband from either show, or $10 at the door.
